When it is time to extinguish the flames of your candle, simple hold the wick dipper by the spiral end and push the wick into the wax. This will extinguish the flame and re-coat the wick for future use.Using the dipper, gently pull the wick back up. Use the wick trimmer to place the wick in the notch of the trimmer and using the handle like scissors, trim the wick. It will trim just 1/4" off, which is usually what the wick has burned. The burnt end of the wick will fall into the tray on the trimmer for easy disposal. Then, simply re-light your candle. Independent lab studies have shown that your candle will burn up to 5 more hours!! Now how nice is THAT???

I just wanted to share something that I thought was pretty crazy on my part, especially since I sell candles.
After signing up as a consultant and receiving my kit, I lit one of my new Gold Canyon candles. Now keep in mind that one of the things that Gold Canyon is notorious for is the fact that the candles burn evenly, no tunneling and no residual wax around the sides. So I lit this candle and went about my business. After several hours, I put the candle out for a little while. When I went to relight it later, I trimmed the wick, only instead of using the wick trimmer (since I hadn't ordered one yet) I used a pair of scissors. How hard could that be? Well, it was much harder than I thought because I couldn't judge how much I should trim off and, thinking it was approximately 1/4 inch. I re-lit the candle. Well, the first thing that happened was, it wouldn't stay lit...I lit and re-lit several times and when I finally was able to get the wick to stay lit, it started burning right down the middle of the candle....oh no tunneling!!! NOT what Gold Canyon is supposed to do! I was in a panic...how am I supposed to sell these candles if I can't even light them the correct way?
I finally had to call someone in the business and ask them. It turns out I had trimmed the wick to much and that is why they were doing what they were not supposed to do! So, even as a consultant, we live and learn, don't we??
